Caustic to remove coating?

One of my builder customers has me removing a light sealant from their garage door landing strips. The sealant softens in the heat and causes the door to stick to the concrete.

This sealer is merely to protect the concrete during construction. It serves no cosmetic purpose. Lacquer thinner and a little elbow grease gets it off for us well enough to please the residents. It would be a lot quicker to do a caustic application and wash off though. Should work, shouldn't it? I'm still learning the ropes with the stuff and don't want to ruin something in the process.

Hello Brandon,

Caustic may work, but why not just try hot water! We can take off a lot of coatings by using just hot (180-200 F) water at 3000 psi or so.
