We're on a limited budget and we're shopping for a cold water rig.

We're really interested in the Landa PG4-3500 as a reliable start-up unit and awesome back-up cold water rig after a hot water skid can be purchased.

The one that we're looking into is in excellent condition and has a Maxima 36 surface cleaner as well. I think that we can chew the guy down on the price to about $1700...

I've been doing thread searches and pulling up links, trying to get as much knowledge on this unit before closing the deal on one.

Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on the Landa belt drive units, in general. This rig seems pretty pricey for being a slightly used COLD water sprayer, but it does come with the surface cleaner?

I can easily pick-up an older direct drive unit for literally a song around here.

My main concern is reliability, especially in the middle of a job, ya know?
:indecisive:

4 inches of surface cleaner for each gallon per minute of water coming out of your pressure washer is the golden rule for surface cleaners. If your looking at a 4gpm machine and your talking about running a 36 inch surface cleaner you will be out cleaned and much faster by a guy with a cheaper surface cleaner thats half the size and the same pressure washer

Welcome to PWI.
That does seem a little high to me. I have seen belt drives around here from 400-1000. I think that is a 4 gallon per minute machine and if that is the case you wont be able to use that surface cleaner with it. General rule of thumb is four to five inches of surface cleaner per gallon a minute.
The surface cleaner in the pic is an ultra clean. 16inches which would be perfect for that machine. they are 450-500 brand new. I love mine. Good luck!

I've had some local companies try to sell me a 36 inch surface cleaner when I had a 4.8 gallon machine and claim it would work perfectly.

You're in the right Place Jim. But you need to put a signature on your posts. Go to USER CP at the top and put in a signature with your company information.

I got a whirl away 28" that is slow with a 5.5gpm machine.
I also have a 16" steel eagle I can run it witha 4gpm or 5.5gpm withgood results.
I got to get more gpm for the 28" then I can rock like the big boyz.

Our Trade Name application was sent out with the $10 payment, but we did not sent the additional $25 to expedite. I understand that it takes the state 2-3 weeks to process the application.

With all due respect, I do not wish to post it at this time.

Just omit the company name. It's forum rules you name and a working telephone number be in your signature. It's not so we can steal your company name but do we know who and where your at.

This is where we were getting the Maxima thing from

I think that $1700 is a bit high to be honest. That machine lightly used is worth 700-800 bucks max, regardless of the highly over rated retail price of that unit. The surface cleaner can be bought new with whats left over. In addition it looks like there is 50ft of hose. You will need a lot more than that to actually do some work with. 4gpm is a starter unit. You can put together a 5.6 gpm unit with 13 hp new, buy 150ft of hose and get a surface cleaner for about the 1700 you want to spend. Also, this is a good time of year to look for a hot water skid. The season is closing in parts of the country and people may want to upgrade. You should look around and find a hot water skid for 2500 or so...They are out there.

If you buy it,
replumb it, with a high-volume bypass
..to make it more abuseable n reliable.

Going to San Diego soon ??
I have a good-used similar system, already plumbed correctly,
and guaranteed. Call if you like.

What he said!!!

I have a two landas will not buy another, no watt on them.

Have a small crack in the brass head. Says 7year watt, so I called dealer. Told me to buy a gp ez4040g pump.

Landa will not back up what they sell. The landa dealer told me to go to another Landa dealer up in Jacksonville.

From what you posted, thats not Landa, thats a dealer. If you are having a problem with the local dealer I suggest calling Landa directly.

There is no local dealer in Palm Coast. There is one in Ft. Pierce, Orlando and Jacksonville. You are kind of equal distance from all three.

They do honor their warranty. If you need assistance, I can help you.
