Distributors are you a member of ceta?

We were but since we did NOT derive any benefit from the cost we did not renew.

The savings on a booth at the CETA show were exactly what the membership cost; therefore a wash.

Our negotiated freight rates are lower than those through CETA.

We are a CSA approved and inspected manufacturer so our safety certification is administered by a world wide recognized governmental agency. Nothing wrong with CETA certification it is just that we are required to build to a mandatory standard.

We have no need for a group health insurance plan as here in Canada we have socialized health care. From first Doctor vist, through to delivery and a minimum of 60 hours in hospital afterward there is no bill to pay for the birth of a child. Another example; (merely to rub it in :p ) our engineer required a heart valve replacement at the ripe old age of 45. After three weeks in hospital waiting for an open OR and replacement valve, then four more weeks post operative care he never saw a bill. I have many more such examples if you wish. Remember that no system is perfect but I like how ours works.

Plus, the CETA Show is supposed to be for manufacturers and dealers to discuss business. I have met some of the professional contract cleaners that post here at these meetings and it is difficult to discuss business with a dealer when they are around (No offense intended).

It is the Cleaning Equipment Trade Association that does not appear to advocate effectively (IMHO) on behalf of the industry's manufacturers.

Personally, though, the Association should benefit greatly by encouraging dealers to join so that when the Clean Power show is held, in a venue that is accessible to most, at a time convenient to most; people will actually attend. Again merely my opinion.
