I Just need a simple understanding of Divisions within a business.

Some of you guys on here run divisions within your business. (example Mike V and DJ both have a pressure washing division and landscaping divison within one business structure (I think) ) When you add a division within your company does the division get taxed separately or do you pay taxes as one business structure?. Also on marketing items do you have to make it clear to the customers that the selected service is a division? ( example ABC pressure washing is a division of 123 property service) Can someone just do a quick break down of this whole division thing for me.

I don't know about anyone else, but we've been doing this for years.

Corp A contains
DBA 1 DBA 2 DBA 3

Savings include:
Insurance for all three under corp
WC for all three under corp
Credit card processing for all three under corp (make sure customer knows they will be charged under corp name so they don't dispute charges)

Corp gets taxed as a whole. There are other tax and banking advantages too.

That's just how we do it.

How do you guys separate the gas mileage and fuel expenses for taxes at the end of the year, or do you have too.
