Drought - how is it affecting you

Those of you in the south know all to well about the drought, my question is how is that affecting your business? And are you finding it harder to sell your service?

Thanks!

I think it definitely hurt residential at the end of 07. Too early to tell yet on 08.

Commercial was hurt because I have a shopping center I do in a county that has banned all outdoor water use including commercial. I will still be able to do this work but it cost me $$$$ to get a closed loop system. That was the only way I could keep servicing that account.

How do you plan on working in Paulding Clay? Paulding is one of the counties with a total outdoor ban including commercial.

I can water from the county at no charge to fill up my tanks. Also I here there is an exempt form you can get through the county. I have friends in landscape that have been able to get the forms.

Doug - look under the GA code for exemptions 39-3-30-.05 these are the exemptions for level 4 drought. Which is what all of north GA is under, you are in Newnan, nice area, my in laws live in Moreland.

Clay. I know about the exemptions. Counties can enact further restrictions and in Paulding County all outdoor use is banned including commercial. When I talked to people there I was told the only way I could work was to bring my own water. No exemptions, no hooking up the fire hydrants, etc. Who are you talking with that says you can get water or exemptions?

Newnan is a nice area but it is growing way too fast. Almost out of control now.
