I am full of questions today! I just found out about the federal tax form 4136 for the exemption of road taxes paid for certain types of diesel fuel. Does anyone file this form? What do I need to do, just save all of my receipts from the gas station? At $.244 cents per gallon, it seems like a worthwhile process. Thanks!

If that's the form for rebate of the "road use tax just make sure your receipts show the quantity of gallons.
By the way...also applys to "off road use" for gasoline

You can also just get the "off road" or "farm use" diesel in the first place and avoid the taxes from the get go. Just don't put the off road diesel in your truck or the DOT guys will nail you when they stop you to do a color test on your gas tanks. It's fine in your equipment. You can get the off road diesel at any agricultural place like Agway or similar place.
