Help on bid

I have a two story home with vinyl siding. He wants the following done:

Driveway - 1000 sq ft
Side walk - 279 sq ft
Front porch - 48 sq ft
Wood deck - 648 sq ft
concrete patio - 144 sq ft
Vinyl siding - ~2371 sq ft

siding has green mold on it.

He said he has a guy that will do it for $150. I think he is either bluffing, or crazy. If he does not take my bid I will tell him to let the other guy do his damage and call me later to fix what he did.

I planned on using my new M5 with 12% pool chlorine and soap.

What would you bid on this?
Do you agree with the chem?

That is nowhere close to a $150 job......just his concrete alone is $150 with a package deal rate. The house wash, depending on shrubbery, probably $150-175, the deck - minimum $450 to just wash because it's never just a wash. Let the other guy lose his butt :)

The blurry one I will call "Neighbors Rotweiler", or "Cold sweat". These are some pics of the house. There are more on TGS.

I wouldn't change any of the prices I listed before I saw the pics except maybe the concrete (can't see that in any pics so I will ASSUME <--- usually bad habit, that it's just regular dirty and can be cleaned with housewash mix & surface cleaner. Chemwise, we have our own preference (Citracleen) - the deck doesn't look like it has anything on it but crud (no sealer) but you can't really tell for certain. Sodium percarbonate cleaner would be our choice over bleach.

Would the Sodium Percarbonate work as a brightening agent to prevent feathering of the wood and prepare it for a sealer?

What brand name is associated with the SP?
Can you get it at Home Depot, etc?

Sodium percarbonate is not a brightener - it's an alternative to bleach for cleaning wood and removing the mold & mildew. Depending on who's product you use, neutralizing with an oxalic or citric acid is still required - brightening will come from that step.

I'm not sure what you are asking as far as "feathering" - do you me furring? Furring can be caused by a number of things - really old mistreated wood will fuzz up, too much pressure will certainly cause fuzzies - misapplication of a chem can cause them. Percarbs are not as aggressive as hydroxides or bleach and may cause fewer. On an untreated deck, yes a percarbonate will prep for sealing/staining.

We don't generally buy any chems from local home improvement stores - we purchase our chemicals from Steve Rowlett, TimberPro, Pressure Tek, or Extreme Solutions. Sunbrite Supply in GA also has a great line of products. If you were to look at Lowe's or HD, read the back - if it is a SP based product, it has to list Sodium Percarbonate near the top of the ingredients. Always ask for MSDS - that will show it.
