This is the Face Book page students at Socastee High School started for the Hero Resource Officer Mr. Karney. This is our local high school. Early this week a 9th grade student... went into his office and tried to kill him. The bullet just missed and he got hit with flying shrapnel. The boy also had some pipe bombs planted in the School. Officer Karney didnt run and hide and try to save himself he tackled the kid and God knows how many students and faculty he saved. God Bless this man!
From what I read on the Facebook Page he is very involved and a very nice guy.

The school shooting have to stop but until then I hope if this ever happens anywhere else that we have such a brave person to stop it!!!!!!!

He is a true hero I am sure he saved countless lives. It is a shame that a parent be that detached from their children to not know they are that disturbed and making pipe bombs.

Sorry, I was going to post a sarcastic comment about how this guy tackled some poor child and the ACLU's necessary involvement and anti-vigilante stuff, but I don't really want to give them any ideas...
I'm glad everyone is safe and he knew how to act quickly!
