I saw one of your ghetto signs on the side of the road near my parents house today.....so I swerved and ran over it with my truck!!
Just for fun!!

Just kidding..........I did see a sign and it reminded me of this site......Im not really a "regular" here but I come on every so often......

On a serious note tho......I know a home inspector (self employed, no insurance) who fell off a roof and last I heard he was paralized....They were going to try a surgery, but I dont really know the specifics of it.....

Definatelly an eye opener for poeple like myself who take advantage of (or can only afford to be) workmans comp exempt here in FL

I prefer to stay on the ground and pour concrete....then spray it or stamp it, myself.

Its easy to get a little cereless and/or in a hurry when you have a lot to do, or have gone a long time with no accidents on the job.
So - just a reminder to everyone "Saftey First"
Stay safe out there.

Ive been trying my best to minimize or get off roofs altogether. The older I get the less I want to go up.
WC in florida is that it is a joke. If you fall and have WC at least you can get some bills paid but if you cant work again, the settlement you'll get is worthless. I tell my helpers that if I fall, drive me home so at least my own insurance will cover me.

Thank God I was blessed with an athletic son!
At age 55, I sometimes wonder how I did the thousands of roofs I have cleaned, over many years.
Once, cleaning 4 to 6 roofs a day was just another day in my life.
Now, I look at some jobs my men do, and almost wonder how they do them.
It is called being young.
I have really bad Osteoarthritis in my right wrist now Jon.
I can still clean a shingle roof, but would not care to do many tile roofs anymore.
