HOT POLLS- PWI,TCN,TGS & PWNA

Here are some hot polls from other BBS.

Vote on your favorite.

Make comments positive and not negative. This is not a contest but just a community effort to have different views in these threads from people in different forums.

I picked these sites because all admins post on them and they are the most professional forums on the web. All the admins are pros and share the betterment of the industry as a whole.

Remember if you vote you should look at the other threads and make a determination on your favorite. Not the best but the one that gave you the most insight and knowledge.

Keep in mind that your opinion is just that; please do not make the comments personal against anyone.

Thanks, Ron Musgraves AKA: Ron Marshal

I voted on Matts thread, not because its the best! two reasons, Matt and grant almost got on the boxing Gloves.

The real reason is that it has surprised me at how the poll is split. I was surprise to see so many pros split on this arguement.

I see both sides and realize that education in hood cleaning is needed for New guys probably more so than anyother field in pressure cleaning.

Hi Ron,
Are we starting a discussion re. licenses and insurance, or is there an ongoing discussion some where else on this site?
I 'm sure the opinions are many and varied.

I guess the discussion begins with who is doing the licensing, and what is their goal.
I am always for presenting a professional image but are we talking about a state run department or a professional association?

The link above willdrive you there, how ever recently the PWNA has locked peopleout of the BBS.

We could always open another thread and talk about this subject.

Henry was the person who started the thread on PWNA. its very interesting.

this poll is actually about four different posts.

Yes -- the PWNA should push for license. It brings credibility to the industry.

Who gives PWNA the credibility or authority to license anyway??

The PWNA does

I would say the experts that workwith the pwna. EA & Phil......

These are guys that have extensive experience and did all the home work and continue to research for better methods.

But Ron this is not about just Grease...the post was about licensing Pressure Washers over all. I agree Phil is the grease dude...EA...should be able to License Pressure Washers in General?????

There is an interesting note about licensing: The definition -
Main Entry: 1li·cense
Variant(s): or li·cence /'lI-s&n(t)s/
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French licence, from Latin licentia, from licent-, licens, present participle of licEre to be permitted
1 a : permission to act b : freedom of action
2 a : a permission granted by competent authority to engage in a business or occupation or in an activity otherwise unlawful

Can a private org issue a license without government authority and endorsement that would make it otherwise illegal to operate a powerwasher without one.

I have a nursing license: I have to have it to practice, otherwise I go to jail.... I have a drivers license, I have to have it to drive, otherwise I go to jail.... hunting license and so on... Power washing license??? I have to have it to spray water, otherwise I go to jail ????....

Licenses generate revenue for licensing agents - usually governmental agencies.

Licenses also generate revenue for supporting and contributing organizations that facilitate the acquisition of a license: paying to attend driving school or a hunter safety course or attending a college.

I think the question should be.... Should power washing companies be certified? .... some are.

Matt makes a good point, they might do better saying it is a certifiction course and training. Then people will know you have specific procedures in place for washing ie. no acid on the windows etc.. Kind of like an ISO9000 certification. Or basically an expensive sticker you can put on you van that says your not stupid.(or mabye you are because you spent all that money)
