How to get moss off shake's edge

Hi,
I've been having trouble getting moss off of the butt edge of shingles and shakes (often it is also attached underneath the shake.) I've used from 500 upto 1800 psi with my 6 gpm machine. I've experimented with getting the wand closer and with moving it back and letting more flow run over for a longer period but still it stays.

I am trying to remain cautious about not shooting any water back up under the shingle so I'm continuing to keep my wand angle no more than at 90 degrees (but usually much less, angling away from the underside of the shakes.) I know that a lot of roof cleaners in my region use 8 to 10 gpm machines for cedar roofs but 6 is still a pretty good flow and as mentioned, I've experimented with slowing way down and letting more flow go over the shake. I'm not sure if I'm being a perfectionist and that a nominal amount of moss is always going to be left on and under the butt edge and the ensueing preservative can do the final job of killing it off.

Any thoughts? Thanks much,
Tom
