Hello Everyone!

I am a new member to the site and am VERY impressed with all the great info here.

A little about me and how I come to be sharing this little piece of cyberspace with you:

My wife and I are expecting baby #3 in Jan/Feb next year. (YUP! We are talking WEEKS here)

I work in the IT industry full-time and she works part-time in a company she helped co-found many years ago.

Well, with our 2nd little girl :p she is ready to come home and raise the kids, make more home cooked meals (Yoohoo!) and continue to work on our first business. (personalized candy wrapper and candy bouquets)

I came accross a product related to the PW business on one of the many business forums I visit. The 'business opportunity' was about making money using a 'new product' that cleans oil spills from concrete parking lots, drive-thrus, etc.

After doing some reserach - I am sure the product is Clean-Crete. Does anyone have any experience or an educated opinion on this product???

Delco sells a version of it and has good info here:

http://www.dcs1.com/clean-crete/

This really got me interested in this business and the potential it has to let My Beloved stay home as I have always promised she could do - one day.

Well, that day is coming VERY quickly. I need your help to get things off the ground as smoothly and as quickly as possible.

I suppose what I need to know is what are the ESSENTIAL items I need to get started. I think I want to conentrate on the parking lot idea first. But perhaps you might have other ideas?

I do have a van so I can lug stuffage around.

I also came accross some books while doing my internet research:

http://www.epowerwash.com/publication/index.php?sid=7884621103748604

I plan on buying the first 3 books listed on the top IF you good people feel they would be worth the investment.

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards,

Paul

PS Yeah, I know....there was more than 1 question.

hi paul

hi paul,

have you checked out the search button at the the top of this page....there is a ton of reading there, in fact most of the bbs have a search button....there is a lot of help on these boards but help yourself first by going this route first.

out of the three books i have the second one..its ok but its like evrything else you carn't beat hands on and if you hit any problems just ask here....

when they say just one question they mean it :)

a tip, is put a short cut for notepad(or what you use)on the start bar..and any info you think will be of use to you save under brick, concrete, wood, housewash, etc....the same with some posts
as you will come across some good info.

best wishes paul.

Hello Paul

Congratulations on the baby as well.

Not much input here as of yet from the pro's (holidays).

I too am interested to here what advised they have to offer.

I am in the same situation with my wife wanting to stay at home and me starting new Pressure Washing business (effective Jan 1).

I am fortunate that I have a good friend that started his business about 2yrs ago and he is starting to see some growth now that his name is out there. He is out of my area so I have worked with him on various jobs and getting comfortable with Chem's and what not to do.

I still would be interested to find out if anyone has got these books Paul has mentioned and if they are worth it.

If you do decide to chase the American dream Paul, then I wish you and your growing family well.

Thanks in advance for reply's

Happy Holidays All

Robert

Everett - thanks for the response...it is going to be a VERY busy year indeed.

Paul - UK - Thanks for the great tip on the notes idea! I will do just that. I appreciate the comment on the search idea. However, being new to this industry I am not quite sure what search terms I should be using.

If someone could provide a list of terms I would REALLY appreciate it!!

Robert - sounds like we are pretty much in the same boat except you have had some experience in the industry. I will do some searches on the book titles I found and see what I come up with.

Send me a private message and we can stay in touch since it sounds like we may be walking the same path at the same time.

Thanks to all in advance.

Paul
