Hi

Im just starting a pressure washing business restoring decks washing vinyl houses and cleaning concrete patios etc I have a Hydrotek hot cold water machine with a 16 horse vanguard engine 3000psi at 5 gpm I picked it up used and had it serviced and checked out by a local hydrotek dealer and I have a couple of wands etc I really need advice on chemicals for cleaning vinyl the guy at the dealer said he recommended a cleaner called glory Im not sure if anyone else heard of that what do you recommend for vinyl and deck cleaning. I heard some cleaners could etch glass and damage paint on gutters etc I appreciate any help or advice you can give me I also got a few videos on order so I will see other techniques people are using for cleaning Thanks in advance Glen

Good Luck

Hydrotek makes a nice machine. I would relate to you though that you don't need a hot water machine to wash vinyl or restore wood. Hot water causes damage to wood and raises the grain. Also, depending on how hot you are running the hot water you could be voiding the Warranty on the siding. Use the search function at the top and you will find a "ton" of information on chems and getting started. I wish you well in your new business.

Thanks Everett

I know not to use the hot water on wood and vinyl I appreciate the help and advice I only bought this machine because the price was right even though its a little heavy and if I get into washing trucks trailers or equiptment the hot water will serve its purpose I am just a little nervous about chems because of some stuff I read I bought the book about how to start and run apressure washing business and found some good info in that So my question is more towards applying chems to vinyl houses and applying chems to decks for cleaning should I use a low pressure sprayer or just use the downstream injector on my machine this is all pretty new so I am going to proceed very cautiously because if it was my house I would hope I would be trated that way by a pressure washing service I know to clean from the bottom up and rinse from the top down should I clean out gutters first then apply chems to the house so everything does not get all over the house I just cleaned Thanks again Glen Brescia

Glen,

I use a Shur-Flo Pump set up on a cart or an X-jet for chems on a house. On a deck I still use a pump up, I like my employees to be in better control of the chems around a deck and the siding. This is just my way. Others will have there ways and methods. You should try out all the various methods and find which one(s) you are comfortable with. I do stress to my folks that when dealing with chems though SAFETY FIRST! Nice to know you are doing your homework if you ever need to don't hesitate to call or e-mail.

Thanks again Everett
