lightly remove paint, how?

I am going to be doing a brick home this week and have a question. The brick is red, but painted white (painted 30 some years ago). The side of the house facing the sun is very faded and the customer likes that look. They have asked me to wash the house and to try to fade the paint so it all looks very faded. They are very concerned with not losing any mortar. They cannot afford to re-point the brick. Any suggestions on chemicals that will help fade the paint from the brick without removing the paint completely??

I believe they are dreaming.I hate costumers like that.I would rather them not call me at all,but when you need work ,you have to do it.I dont think you will be able to fade the paint,i really dont.Thats a job for the sun and wheather elements. But hey ,wash it anyway and charge them.Tell them you will do everything in your power to fade it but dont guarantee it,you got to charge for your time regardless

i would call russ at xtream and see if a weak mix of HD80 would do it.
Any idea what type of paint it is? oil or water based.
a strong limomlene might do it also.
Buy a soda blasting attachment if you can make enuff to make it worth it. Soda blasting is allmost a garentee. instant errosion.

Do you know Russ's number?
I don't know what type of paint it is. The customer said it was painted like that before they bought the house. Personally I think it looks like crap and tried to get them to re-paint. (no I don't do painting, just trying to help out other contractors) but they like the worn look. If you can get me Russ's number I will call him to see what he thinks. Will also check on the soda blaster.
Thanks
