Does anyone have a suggestion for what will remove pine tar/sap from concrete? I have run into this several times, where the concrete is stained black in a spotty pattern under a pine tree. I have tried concrete cleaner from Home Depot, and that hasn't worked. It doesn't matter how close or how long I hold the wand on it, it does not come up.

Suggestions please!

Mike,

It is possible that what you are seeing is the tannin from pine needles. If so, a downstreamed solution of bleach will take care of it - any leaf/nut stains as a matter of fact. Spray it, let it sit for a few minutes, then reapply as needed. Rinse well when done to avoid "burning" the grass.

If it is stains, the bleach will do the trick.

No, this is different than the stains from leaves, oak nuts, etc. I will see if I can get a picture tomorrow and post it. This type of stain isn't the brown from the leaves etc, but is black.
