need advice on pressure washing over a deck...

Hello,

I have a house I'm pressure washing this Thursday, vynil siding. The part I'd like advice on is I'll also be washing a vynil coated awning/porch overhang about 8X12 feet. The problem is that it is over part of the wrap-around deck, and I don't want to spot up, or have the chemicals drip down on the deck and partially "clean" it. Any suggestions on how I can reach the exterior wall and awning without messing up the deck? Thanks in advance

In those situations, I usually wet the deck first, spray the house with cleaner, immediately rinse the deck of any excess cleaner (no pressure.........don't mark up the deck), then wash the house and give the deck one more final rinse.

If you want added security, you could dillute your cleaners just a little bit more for the section over the deck, if possible.

Another tip

Mike gave great advice. In extreme instances, you could also tarp or lay down plastic. I would only do this as a last resort though.
