Story on the grease
Ok My Buddy and I went out together to clean a vent hood at jr food mart.. The have a 6 ft hood with three fryers under the hood. It was hard to tarp because of the way the wall and hood were shaped. But we managed . After we got thru cleaning we didnot notice that water had filled up in the plastic between the hood and wall and when we pulled the plastic down .....water all in the brand new grease. Because the water had caustic in it ,, it caused the grease to foam up and overflow on to the floor . We told the Manager we were sorry .. It took 1 hour extra to clean the grease up .. We told her to send us a bill for the grease..
Ok the hood cleaning price was $ 300.00 The bill for the grease for 3 fryers was $ 150.00 dollars..
Lesson Learned ... In odd shaped hoods and wall hoods especially where fryers are under I now spare the extra expense and cover the fryers before I tarp the Hood.. Just In Case ... Damn Grease is expensive.. And I Been doing Hood Cleaning How Long ??? 14 years .. Learn new stuff all the time...

New member, but costly story
I recently did a $350.00 job that is now costing me approx $550.00. It was a job in the city and consumers energy had the storm drains dammed up for construction. One of my workers who also works for Consumers told me that a certain steel grate on the sidewalk was a flood overflow, in case the street drains backed up. I guess I thought he new what he was talking about, so we poured this thick nasty water down the grate. Unfortunatly that grate drained down into consumers energies electronic underground vault that they were building. Millions of dollars in equipment sitting under the streets, with a drain running into it. After threatening to take me to court, I settled with paying for half of the clean-up of the vault and they paid for the other half because there were no markings to know what was under the street.

Working for friends!!!! As you guessed my friends wife is part owner of Danny and Clyde's service stations and grills. They had hired me to clean their hood systems, 20 stores in all. After almost three years of everything going perfect I arrived at a location to do the hood and the manager was trying to clean the fryer himself. As we did the entire hood approximately 2 1/2 Hrs he was still fiddling with the fryer so I offered to clean it for him. Fifteen minutes one gallon of degreaser and presto, new fryer. The next day I received a call from the individual from corporate and asked me to start cleaning all the fryers from that point on, $50.00 a fryer. OK, sounds good so far. After six or eight months and plenty fryers, I arrive at a location and after cleaning the hood they bring the fryer outside and this one is electric. I refused to clean it as I was afraid there would be no way to completely cover all the electrical components. The manager made a call and I was told its part of my job and was told to clean the fryer. OK I cleaned it. YEP... next day phone call, fryer doesn't work, I'm responsible. They want a brand new fryer $4,800. I called my (friend) who in returned had the same a$$whole I had been dealing with for over a week call me back and tell me when I did the job I assumed responsibility. Needless to say I told them where they could stick their fryer and business. Problem was they still owed me about $2,800 in past due bills! LESSON LEARNED!
