I have been asked by the lead grounds/maintenance tech to give him a figure this week of cleaning the vinyl off I believe 9 buildings in this apartment community. I have enclosed 3 snaps to give you an idea what I am up against. The entire building is not vinyl as you can see from photos. I guess my question is how much square feet a 55/gal mixture of sh would do? I know it depends hour heavy you apply bit I am guessing around 2000 sq ft? Doing measurements of the building tomorrow. I am guessing the building is approximately 200' long.

I use about 3-5 gallons on 2000 sq ft that's downstreaming though, not sure about other application, like pat said maybe someone that uses that method will chime in.

I think the 2000 may be close, but I really have to say you need to reevaluate your method. The method you are thinking of using is not efficient for this type of high volume work.

To answer your question between, 20-40 gallons depending on how your experience, how you spray, wind, and other factors. You will also double to triple the time it will take, have a lot of ladder work-movement etc, vs down streaming. I would strongly recommend you downstream this job. You can certainly use a dedicated pump, but IMO you would be creating far more work for yourself than is necessary. Feel free to call me if I can help you David.

500 foot perimeter x 30 feet high at least a $1500~$1800 job and done in 6 hours with an 8gpm pressure washer.

Is that figure of 1500 ~ $1800 for all 9 bldgs or for one? As for reaching the height i also have a 25' extention pole I could hook up. If it doesn't still have the reach i could use my 5.5 gpm. After rethinking this project it looks like downstreaming is the way to go.

Thanks Doug, i was kind of wondering if this would be too much for a 12v setup after both you and Pat being on the same page with the down streaming

David downstream! What is the strength of the sh? Being in IL the mold won't be as bad. I would suggest if the sh is fresh and between 10.5 and 12% cutting it 50/50 and adding a good house wash soap to cut the dirt. Call Paul K and get a 0040 nozzle and a 2540. Like mister miagi said spray on spray off, David son!

I was figuring one building at 200 feet long like you said. Estimating 50 foot width. That's a 500 foot perimeter and its 3 stories. Plus you got all those pita porches and may have to get up to the gutter line or get on the roof for some of those gables. I believe I would be at least 1800 for one of those and give it a day. You are going to also need to worry about cars people and their personal belongings on the porches.
