Pricing question??

So I have a question on pricing and I know it is about making a profit for what I need and I have a pretty solid idea if where I need to be. This is what I am thinking, but have a question should I include supplies in these prices or add those additional line items?

Decking:

Wash Only: $.80 - $1.00 per square foot
Wash and Stain: $1.5 - $2.00 per square foot
Strip, Seal, and Stain: $2.50 - $3.00 per square foot
Strip, Seal, Sand, and Stain: $3.00 - $4.00 per square foot
Railing is about $8/ln foot

Well, I'm just starting out myself. I have a minimum, and past that, it depends on the base job. I use zillow for sq ft of homes, and bid .08-.15 per. Flat work is about the same, but I use a measuring thing with the wheel. The correct name escapes me at the moment. Either way, it could very well end up being a hourly guess as well, as long as nothing stands out too questionable.

But again, I'm new too. Hopefully some vets will chime in! Thanks for posting.

I dont do decking so I could help you out there, we dont get much decks down here unless its a boat dock.

I've done a few decks and I often charge more than $4 a sg. foot for complete restorations. your numbers are in line with what i would get here in maine. with those prices I include everything but the stain. my deck bids are broken down. separate lines for everything. the most common are, deck wash, prep for stain, stain deck, supplies. I have a $70 supply charge, that covers brushes, rags, tape, plastic, etc. There is more to doing decks than showing up and BAM they are done. It takes a bunch of tools and twice as much sweat to do wood. you will need, sandpaper, sanders, gloves, rags, brushes, stain, plastic, tape, pump ups, tarps, blower, screw gun, hammer, nails, screws, trash bags, insurance, advertising, gas, chems, oh man I can add a bunch more but you get the picture. I always want to MAKE money, I don't want to trade dollars for dollars and to do that I need to charge what I do. if they do not want to pay what I want then I don't do it. go for $4 a sg. foot and get as much as you can.

Your pricing do you include the supplies at that price or do you add it in as a separate line item?
