Reclaim

I have accounts that I am required to recover water at. I currently use a vacu boom for my recovery efforts. This does not work well. The problem that I run into is that the sewer the water runs into is at the front of the yard in the middle of the gate. It is impossible for the drivers not to run over every time they go into or out of the gate. If I set the booms up around the drain, they will not be in one piece for an hour. I have also used a mat to cover the drain. As the trucks run over the mat it gets dragged around the yard, so I still lose the water. I have been moving the unit around the yard with me as I go, keeping it close to the parked trailers. This is difficult and very time consuming. There has to be an easier way. I will get the measurements of the drain on Wednesday and I will look into the drain to see what is down there (drain hole or what not and the size.)
ANY and ALL help is greatly appreciated.

i use to plug a drain for a fleet account i did we had a steel plate cut that fit just inside the drain on the lip where the grate sits it had a rubber seal that was glued to the out side edge it stoped the water from going down the drain and then after we were done i would just take a trash pump suck the watter out to my tank. it got ran over all the time some times it would get a little stuck but you could get it out with a crow bar !! worked pretty good. hope this helps

Cover does not remove

I checked the drain covers today and they do not pull out.
I was also informed today that I have one month to get the paperwork for the dumping of the reclaim water to the safety director or else I am gone. I have already given him the exact paperwork that I am given every time. The problem is that it looks like something that is made on a home computer. The rest is hand written in. They are about to be audited by the epa. Their concern is that if it looks unprofessional that the epa will research it. Everyone wants them in and out. I have not seen a computer at the water plant yet. This is not saying that they do not have one but I have not seen it in the managers office or anywhere else.
What would y'all suggest doing in this case?

Jonathan,
They own the water in the first place. I would be looking for a way to meet local water authority guidelines to filter the water and pump to a sanitary sewer if there is one on site. If you are taking water off site you can be popped for hauling hazardous waste.
If the EPA is auditing them, you can bet there is a reason. I doubt seriously it has anything to do with you,but ask atthe place ytopu dump your water and see if tehy can give you something that is completely printed of their computer on their letterhead. If they can't provide it for you have them call teh account and expalin they have all the required paperwork to satisfy their needs.
