Roof Cleaning Equipment ???

You'll be sorry David.
I got one in pieces in my shed!
It went through two regulators, a manifold, and springs/valves in less then 6 months!
The John Blue PP 193 is way better.
Wish you had talked to me first!

Nice......and to think not that long ago others were complete idiots for using the JB with shc.

ALL of these pumps, the new, and the old John Blues, the Udors and Comets, are NOT really compatible with Chlorine.
They have several weak points, most notably the stainless steel springs, valves, and diaphragm retaining bolts.
They TRY and make a "chemical proof" head by using Epoxy, and poly coatings, and some make their manifolds out of Polypropylene.
I have used almost EVERY one of these pumps, and they do "last", for awhile, and then become major problems.
They leak all over everything, the valve springs break, or the retaining bolt snaps, wreaking havoc in the pumps.
In MY opinion, IF you are insistent in trying to use one of these doomed pumps, might as well have the grandaddy of them all, the John Blue PP 193 ?

It is really a super pump, almost 20 GPM at 250 PSI !

They can be had for around 500 bucks if you shop around, plus the gearbox.

I KNOW this pump inside and out, as I do the Udor, and there is no comparison.
The John Blue PP 193 is MUCH better built, with larger, thicker valve springs.
It holds up WAY better then the Udor, and none of them held up for long on our trucks.

I HONESTLY think one would be better off with a Delevan Diamond series Roller, especially since the Delavan guy said on Pressure tek's board that the Diamond series has good chlorine resistance.

Plus, IF a Delevan roller goes bad, it is cheap to replace .....

Just the Valves for a Udor or John Blue are 300 bucks, then you have manifolds leaking, diapraghms cracking, and so on, and so on ........

we have friends here using them, they do approx. 20-25 roofs/wk no probs
I have an almost brand new gearbox, and a pump for parts, call me when you need the parts.
Maybe they changed them, made some improvements ?
I sure hope so ?

The regulators will go quick, and of course, so will the pressure gage.
Then, the next part to fail will be the springs, then the manifolds will leak.
Fortunately, I have a parts pump.

Sorry to be so blunt David, for you are my friend, and It is NOT my purpose to make you feel bad about your purchase.
Just relaying my experience with that pump.

No problem Chris, this pump is not the one pictured, it has re-inforced manifolds.

They found that problem a little over a year ago and got it fixed up.

My friend takes his chl down to approx 8% (thats from 12%) and adds approx 18 cups of TSP. Its a HOT mix and he still goes on slinging. 200 gallons

BTW we got 1 1/2 year out of that little comet.
(the threads wore off of the main unit-not much I can fix there )

I hope you get TWO years out of the Udor.
I know you love roof cleaning enough to honestly report both good, and bad, your experiences with the new pump.
My units were among the very first ones they sold, and perhaps they have corrected the problems ?

Gordie up at Udor in Minnesota is a very nice guy, and did try and support me, as best he could.

Nice pump bro. 10.5 is really slinging it! I have seen chris' udor pump.
They are shweeet!

Appleman when we gonna go and hook up that new pump of mine? I have approx
two weeks till I need it and want to get it on the trailor and all the kinks worked out?? Call me mang... got a few newcastles in it for ya :)
You SAW with your own eyes Thomas all my pumps that didn't make it ?
I'm just glad i have some UDOR parts if David needs some just hangin in the shed.

Gimme a call, and we ride bro to get the stuff we need to "Appelize" you.
Hey bro, seriously, I just bid a 35K project!

Almost 360,000. sq feet of Tile Roofs, 21 buildings!
Down and Dirty is the Apple Man on this job.

I am going tomorrow over by Lake Wales right to the tank makers with BOTH the Isuzu and the F 600 Flatbed.

Of course, I will have to measure, but I am thinking about dual 525's for the Isuzu, and 4 525's for the F 600!

Of course, I ain't gonna be driving the Isuzu around fully loaded with 2 525's!

BUT, In the Apple Vari Flow system, I can fill up my dual tanks 1/2 way for everyday stuff, and when we get a big job, load up one tank with 525 Gallons of the Pure Love, and then fill the water tank on the job!

The F 600 will get 4 525's in a non Vari Flow system, and we will fill all 4 tanks up 1/2 waywith pure Love, drive to the job, and fill as many tanks with water as we can until the tires cry UNCLE, LOL

Then we gonna point the big Apple Battleship over Orlando way, LOL

maybe none will ever tear up again ...... hahahahaha...... our yellow friend will never let that happen though
They ALL tear up, in their time, every single one of them!
It will be nice that I got David's back if he needs me.
I got a parts pump and gearbox just laying here.
Our Yellow friend will always have the last laugh!

Fa-Fa-Four 525s, good thing it's a ford! That 460 may need a 525 of its own for petro.

Actually Tim, the F 600 has a 370 truck motor, made for Torque.
And yes, I am thinking about 4 525's, but at least 4 325's.

I am able to buy right from the Tank manufacturer in Lake Wales, and SOMETIMES, they have seconds or over runs!

I am taking tomorrow off, and driving BOTH the Isuzu and the F 600 out to Lake Wales, Florida.
I might have to strap the tanks down to get em home to Tampa, but I will find a way.
The Isuzu finally has it's bed, put on crookedly, of course.
Hey, it's on there at least, and ain't going no where, but it ain't pretty, LOL

Once the tanks and reels and stuff are on there, it will be hard to notice.

Good luck, I am making "some" progress with my truck too..
