Running into brick walls!

So I was talking with the manager of TGI Fridays for a few weeks. He was interested in getting an estimate and sounded enthusiastic. I sent in the bid and the next day he said he had awarded the job to another pressure washer who apparently said he could do the same quality job for a lower price. ( I quoted $95.00 and $55 for dumpster) I told him to give me call after the frist service and I'd come do a demo and then we'd compare. I also told him the reson our prices are higher is because we carry full insurance and comply with theEPA, That he'd be liable if his washer was caught and so on.
I called him again today and he said the guy came out and did an excellent job and he was pleased. Said he didn't get any grease up but he doesn't care.
He also said "But keep in touch cuz you know how pressure washers are" Not sure what that's supposed to mean.
Anyway I keep running into this. Every bid I put in for restuarants gets turned down for something like this. I must be doing something wrong.

Sure you do!! Most people that are in this business, aka our competitors, are not reputable, reliable, professional, insured, need I go on?

And they disappear on a regular basis.

I have 1 TGI Friday's and they are on a quarterly service for $200.00. I have seen an employee with a home depot special cleaning the one close to my house. The GM there wouldn't even consider hiring someone else and the place is a mess!!

I have a really funny story about store employees using their own machine to wash the store.

Today I passed by a restaurant and noticed an employee uniform washing the sidewalks. I pulled in and talked to the guy for a minute. By the looks of him he was a manager of some sort but when I asked for the GM that was there before he said he was no longer there. I asked him if he was the new Gm and he said no but pointed to a guy wearing sanitary gloves carrying out a pot of grease. I gave the grease guy my card and informed him of our services while the washer was standing aside him. He asked the amount for service and I gave him the price. The washer asked if i could get it as clean as he did (using a turbo nozzle to clean the sidewalks extremely uneven) and I said better. Needless to say were going to finish up for him and talk tomorrow. The washer also stated as I was leaving he was the Regional Manager.

I think it takes patience with these restaurants. I have visited one that took almost a year to get and others I sign them up as soon as I get in the door for the reasons stated above. Just stay in his face. Stencil them after the guy is done cleaning. I did that to a local competitor and it will come around
