Runoff

Do you think there's some oil in this runoff? How about gasoline or diesel? How many other substances are right now being washed right into Lake Mead?

This was just a little rain.

Have you ever seen what kind of crap deposits in a slot canyon in the desert from just simple runoff from mother nature? It ain't pretty. BUT IT AINT TOXIC EITHER!

Lake Mead is a big Lake and we still drink out of it. Why, because it's a big lake and the little amount of runoff in it every year is nothing to a BIG LAKE!

If you are running an 11 gpm machine for 8 hours that's 5280 gallons of water. You could stand at this corner and watch 5280 gallons of rainwater go by in less than a minute.

What started off as a good thing, (keeping plants from discharging toxic waste into waterways) has turned into something utterly ridiculous.

You can't PW paint off the walls in California because paint is a toxic substance! How much paint can there be in GRAFFITI? 20 ounces? 200 ounces? What is that diluted into 100 gallons of water?

This is all crazy.

I agree that it is crazy and it is the law but we just have to deal with it and do the best we can.

I know others out there will not and will do whatever they want until they are caught, they are catching people here in Texas like in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas.

Some of the biggest problems that affect the bays are the leaking oil from vehicles that leak all over and then when it rains, it goes into the bays.

If the people would get the leaks fixed, that would get rid of a big part of the problem but you have too many people out there that just do not care.

I'm not so sure I believe that about the oil affecting the bays. I think it's all propaganda for the nature police.

A tanker with millions of gallons can sink and within a year mother nature has cleaned itself up. It's happened not to far away from you in Louisiana.

Some chemical plants and other types of plants have UNNATURAL substances as a byproduct of their production. Previously this stuff was just washed off into the lakes. Ending this type of runoff is sensible and reasonable.

But as usual Mr or Mrs know it all had to keep going with it further and further down the line so that now I have to turn in my 4 quarts of used oil instead of just pouring it around the edge of the flowerbed.

It's stupid.
