Shopping Center Signs

Residential and Commercial Pressure Washing Specia
When you are pressure washing a shopping center (buildings) do you consider the signs part of the buildings. I am washing a strip mall and a couple of the channel letter signs have a lot of black mold that would require a good strong Roof Mix to clean it off.

1) Are signs typically considered part of the building or the responsibility of the store owner to keep it clean.

2) Do you think a strong roof mix will be safe to use on channel letter signs?

Thanks for your input

1) Both. Are the signs attached to the building, such as above the doors? If so, I would consider it part of the building. If they're detached, I wouldn't.

2) As with any cleaner, start with the least harsh and work your way up.

Note: ALWAYS use caution when cleaning signage. Electricity and water don't mix, and signs can be easily damaged with pressure washing equipment. If possible, have the owners turn off the signs, or do the cleaning during daylight hours when the signs aren't lit.
