Shur-flo Chemical Line

Help Needed! I am putting together my own chemical/sealer applicator and was wondering which size chemical line to order?

The shurflow is the 100PSI 1.4 GPM and I believe it has 3/8" fittings on it. The place I ordered recommended using a 1/4" hose.

Is this correct? I am looking for maximum flow on this thing. This unit will be mounted on a cart and mobile.
I am also putting together another shurflo setup that will be fixed to my trailer with 150' of hose (Is this too long, will I lose pressure and flow?) That pump will push at 3.6 GPM..

Hey Will...Yes this will be a great setup for the applications you mentioned although I personally recomend the 3/8" hose to allow maximum flow I really dont think you will get 3.6gpm with the 1/4" hose mentioned....I have used pumps with both of the gpm rates you mentioned with 200' of 3/8" hose and have not had any problems with flow or pressure and doing roofs it goes up and over the house and still no problems you should be just fine.
Best Of Luck...Andrew

Will, I agree with Andrew on the line for the 3.6 pump. I have a 3.2gpm@45psi pump with 100' of 3/8" line. As for the the 1.4gpm pump either size hose should work but I personally would not use over 75' for your sealer pump. We have 50' on our Deckhand and on most decks we place it in the yard where we don't even have to move the unit until the job is complete.

go with

go with the bigger hose on longer runs its called friction loss the bigger the line the lesser the friction get a hose real
