Suction problems?

Hello everybody. When I'm out at a job site I can't park trailer going slightly uphill my machine will not draw the water. It's a belt driven unit. Is this normal ?

What kind of machine, how long is the hose from the machine to the buffer tank, have you checked to make sure the pump itself is ok, are you sucking air in anywhere?
Thats where i would start.

Do you have the water looped back into the inlet or back to the tank. Either in the inlet of the pump is higher then the water and you got an air bubble trapped.
