A popular restaurant in downtown Luray is closed due to a weekend fire.
A ventilation shaft leading down to the grill at the Artisan Grill caught fire Saturday night, according to the Luray Fire department.
The damage to the shaft and slight smoke damage has forced the eatery to temporality shut its doors.
It's located on a block of gift shops that are frequented by tourists.
Gift shop owners and the Luray/Page County Chamber of Commerce president say the gourmet restaurant's popularity brings customers to the area, and it will be missed.
"We're hoping just for the speedy recovery. We're hoping that they get everything sorted out as quickly as possible because we love to promote them," says Briana Campbell, president of the Chamber of Commerce.
