Washing a side

I need to wash a house that is aluminum sided. What chemicals should be used, it looks like its painted gray. And i've heard it sometimes leaves streak marks.

This sounds really generic - but Im telling ya that this stuff works really well and it is relly simple.

Home Depot sells a product made by Behr - called house siding wash. Just grab about 2 gallons ($5 each) and you are good to go!

Washing oxidized aluminum siding can be an art. The best approach is a two step process whereby you apply acid first then your caustic housewash mix. Otherwise you have to use careful wand strokes and wash every square inch uniformly.

How do you tell if its oxidized? Before i start washing this house, i want to know what im getting myself into.

easy way xjet gutter cleaner
never done it on aluminum
works great on vinyl oxidation
probly strip alum.

I'm starting to get alitttle nervous aboutt his house...i dont want to screw this up and have to reside it or repaint it. I beleive the siding came with a dark colored gray, i dont beleive its painted on. I've done vinyl and wooden shingled houses just never done an aluminum sided one.

If your not sure about it, walk away from the job. I would rather lose a $200 house wash - rather than turn in a claim to the insurance company, and then have the embarassment of screwing something up. Word spreads fast about bad contractors....... but in the end its your call.

I'm going to head over there tomorro, and check the situation out, ill let you guys know how i make out. I'm a greaser not a house washer thats my problem , haha. I do hoods everyday, but i want to do more houses.

just say "If the paint is bad it will come off" I love disclaimers
