Professors? Hmmmmm????

OK so you asked and I will give you my first impression. The practice of referring to technicians or experts or pressure washing contractors on the forum as "Professors" seems to devalue the person's expertise; it almost feels like mockery or over exaggeration.

The real pros know who they are and so do most of us.

I don't consider myself a Professor or Expert. I do consider myself someone that needs help and also enjoys helping when I can. I also enjoy teaching and consulting new contractors to the business. Don't know why, just do.

Websters: "one that teaches or professes special knowledge of an art, sport, or occupation requiring skill"

You seem upset; and you have obviously contradicted yourself. Loosen up it is not that serious. Gotta go--I can hear the music of the theme song from Gilligan's Island playing.

I prefer Alvin and the chipmunks Christmas songs.

Thanks for the welcome dirtfighter; Ill drink to that!

Well said: modesty goes a long way. How do I add my signature?

Careful, you might ruffle someone's "feathers."

Wow I'm impressed. You must be a scholar?

Thanks, Igor. Done.

Doug,

What you do and what you described is called altruism; guys like you, who believe in helping others, are what make forums like this important!

Altruism: feelings and behavior that show a desire to help other people and a lack of selfishness.

Josh you can't weigh in on the topic because you are an associate professor.

Just kidding...
