I remember those and I think either that style or a style before that they had a huge battery pack or back up and you would carry the phone & pack in a case like a big camera case. They were big but cool to have a phone on the run. How times change

Treo 700W
Windows software not Palm

Moto Q

I love it, but buy the extended service battery.

Email and internet access is great, some don't like that it doesn't have a touch screen, but that is a plus for me. I hate the messy screen thing from my wet fingers. I also like the Microsoft software that works well with my desktop, and even my old laptop.

I've dropped my Q from more than ten feet, and it just keeps on a going. It has also taken a few pretty good shots of water (that has killed a few of my older phones) and hasn't shown any ill effects yet.

The camera is great, and with a mini-SD chip, there is more storage than my ancient laptop!

I have to admit though, the I-Phone is pretty cool.

I just got a HTC Mogul with the simply everything plan, and I am loving it. I already have some spreadsheets I made on there for doing all my math for me while doing bids.
We just started using a answering service, so I get all my e-mails wherever I am. Use it for scheduling.
One really neat part is, taking notes on the phone while talking to people. Use your bluetooth headset, or speaker phone. And take notes by either writing on the screen with the stylus or but typing it in.
Works great with outlook e-mail and contacts lists.
I can remote desktop into other computers with it from pretty much anywhere.
I can also connect it to my laptop to use my phones high speed internet on my computer too.

and more too that I probably haven't figured out yet.

I was looking at the HTC Mogul as well. I just have a pink katana - it was the free phone @ Sprint when we signed on. Nothing too fancy but it does have a good camera on it. Nate has the i580 nextel and I have the i880 nextel as well.

Do you like the HTC overall?

The I phone is the best one I have found for that. I had a blackberry pearl before, but the i phone is better. Plus the media plan is only 20.00 bucks per month. Russ, any new technology is better than that brick you have now. You have to be careful with it, it's not like the old i700 plus from Nextel we all had. You could run over that thing with your truck and it would still work. lol. AT&T has a new plan unlimited for 99.00 per month.

One problem with the I phone is no third party applications. I hear they will have them in the near future. Then you will be able to send a invoice from your phone to a portable printer in your truck.

Actually apple came out last week and reaffirmed the no thrid party software, so if it does happen it will be a while yet before it can.

I love my mogul and I have several other family members wanting them now.
It is windows mobile 6.1 so there is alot of software available for it. The keyboard is easy to use. I tried out the htc touch and didn't care for the lack of a keyboard.

The touch is more of a entertainment geared device, while the mogul is more geared toward the business user.

I wish I could get sprint TV or the sirus satellite radio on it, like you can with the touch but, I would rather have the features I have on it now as opposed to those.

Also the Built in GPS on the unit is nice as well. You can use it locate hot spots the lowest gas price, use it as a phone book to search for business addresses.

Plus the fact that I can enter all my appointments on my computer and my contacts and they just sync over to the phone is nice. I also have office one note on my computer, so all my notes sync over as well.

Ron said his sales people use the HTC mogul and love them.

blackberry pearl here actually just got it this week and love it I was with nextel for over ten years and switched to sprint because my wifes blackberry kept breaking and nextel quit making blackberrys

Russ look at a blackberry it has tv and radio good for a road trip

I'm about to make a change I have Verizon and it's a toss up between the HTC XV6900 or the Samsung i760.

Any advice anyone?

As I mentioned earlier I highly recommend the 6800 aka the HTC mogul. And if you are not tied to verizon I would switch to sprint because you can get the phone cheaper and alot better plan as well.

Yeah Randy I think the the 6900 is the same phone just the verizon version.

I had Sprint in Denver and service was really good, here in NJ it is horrible! Verizon coverage here is excellent so I'm tied to them.

I think I'll go with the 6900.

John, definately Verizon here in NJ

The 6900 is the HTC touch dual that has the slide down key pad. The HTC 6800 is the one I am talking about.

here is a link to it
