Hood grease scrapers

Hey guys,

I know that in order to save time and water, you should scrape any grease buildup prior to using degreasers. But where do you find the proper scrapers?. Roofing companies? floor and tile companies?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Find an Unger dealer....probably a janitorial supply house. Ask to see the Unger catalog. Good line of scrapers. Even check online. I usually scrape any heavy buildup and remove all soft grease. Soft grease spalshes aroung and makes moderately greasy areas , really greasy. Scraping heavy hard grease reduces the amount of water you put into the hood. Less to funnel and clean up. Thin hard grease, I leave for the pressure washer.

It doesn't take anything special to scrape the heavy grease from a hood, go to your local hone center, and get a variety of scrapers probably from the paint section. I would get a wide one, 3 inches or so, a narrow one for tighter spaces. You may want to get a razor scraper for really tough jobs. I use a wall paper scraper, "blades are replaceable” and finally get something you can attach to a pole for hard to reach area's and to reach into ducts.
You may also discover that the perfect scraper doesn't exits, you will always get into something where the right tool just doesn't seem to be available. The ability to adjust on the fly or even invent something may come in handy can anyone say Magyver I think I spelled that correctly

Check out www.leevalley.com for an excellent assortment of tools of all kinds; high quality, reasonable prices and lots of help if you need it.

Unger scrapers

Hey Przrat,

Thanks for the info. I ordered three different types and sizes of scrapers at a janitorial supply Co. I was definitely looking for quality and variety.
These should help finish the job quicker!
