Hey everyone, my name is Erik and I am just getting started into the pressure washing business. I am currently a fencing contractor here in California but due to the economy business has slowed down considerably.
I do have a couple of questions for the experienced folks out there. Over the last few months I have been doing as much research as I can on pressure washing. Sometimes until 3 or 4 in the morning. I talked to Bob at Pressure Tek earlier in the week and I am planning on buying a Pressure Pro heated skid. 3500psi, 5.5gpm. I just bought a 6.5'"x 16' tandem axle trailer and was thinking of placing a 525 gallon poly tank on it? Do you guys think that it is overkill, or could I get by with a smaller tank. Planning on buying a Delevan system for house washing and soap applications. I do live in California so I know that I will have to reclaim my H20. So, there are my questions, do you guys think that will be enough to get me started or are there more things that I need.
I already have insurance set up and I am adding a certification to my contractor's license for pressure washing. (those are a must) By the way, is anyone from the Northern Califoring area? I was just curious. Thank you for time. Erik,

Erik,

Welcome to the BBS and welcome to the world of washing. When you ask about the equipment it depends on what type of work you are doing or plan on doing? Are you strictly going residential? Or are you going to do a residential/commercial combo? Any flat work? If so, you will need a surface cleaner.

You are not too far from Stockton ~ that is a good community/city to establish your company if that is where you are marketing in. I never really did any work over there due to the distance for us but our company did the post construction wash on the Stockton Ports baseball stadium a couple years ago!

Send me a email sometime. newlookpowerwash@aol.com I will get you pointed in the right direction!!!

Thank you for the reply Carlos. I was thinking of mainly focusing on the commercial aspect of the business, but I am not going to turn down a residential job either. I had already after talking with Bob at PT I was also planning on buying a Big Guy. Thanks for taking the time to read and reply to my message, Erik

Welcome Erik. Enjoy your water gun. This BBS is packed with tons of information that needs to be fit into your researching.
