Jeff,
Hopefully we can talk some on this topic. We attend a RT yearly with 100+ contractors, and it is all business. The first year we brought back over 600 pages of info. Now we do it with cd's. Our average cost for everything is well over $500. pp. I have never come away without getting my money back and gaining new ideas and work benefits. The vendors put up most of the actual cost and there is a waiting list yearly. You are right, 10 is as important as 100. However when a group of ten get together vs. 100, there is a bit difference in what is taken home? The nice thing is that no one gains personally, we all share ideas and we all profit. There is so much to offer at a real RT. With sponsors, professional contractors sharing their experiences and knowledge. Having ideas and bonding with other contractors makes for a good experience. I believe we all took something home of value at the three RT we attended this year. NO, MB, KY. We are looking forward to the UAMCC RT's next year. Having a organization "By Contractors for Contractors" will be a good event. Keep up all the good work folks. We have a long way to go before the bell is rung!
