We use the EPA, Health and Safety as a tool.

State law requires a Parking Facility to be maintained. This includes maintenance of a Parking Structure to prevent slipping and or accidents. It is a liability issue on the owners part.

EPA is now looking at run off into the storm drain from a parking facility. The day is coming when removal of Class II Hazardous Waste from a Parking Garage structure will be a requirement.

Try using that here in MS, we still burn tires

Besides the obvious to improve curb appeal there are a # of other reasons. Here is how I normally describe the importance of concrete cleaning. Under services. Driveway and Concrete cleaning.

Great post Jim. Curb appeal/appearance is one selling point. Liability risks due to slip and fall, followed by lawsuit, is, or should be the obvious reason for gas stations, convenience stores, parking structures, etc.

The EPA issue is the future of pressure washing, from what I am learning. Here in Phoenix the local EPA is focused on air quality, but I foresee that EPA guideline will follow regarding Class 2 waste entering storm drains and/or sanitary sewers.

I am currently looking into expanding my operation to include reclamation. Any suggestions or further information would be greatly appreciated.

Besides the obvious safety and look reasons, when you have very dirty concrete that has mold and algae growing all over it, plants and grass will start to grow too or people will start throwing trash there since it is neglected so it could become a health issue too.

There have been concrete slabs on the sides or back of buildings that were neglected and looked like trash dumps. The owner or property manager had to have someone come and haul the trash away and paid me to pressure wash the area. Once it was clean, no more throwing trash there.

Maybe just how people think....that area is dirty so let's throw our trash there?????

I thought tires were made for starting fires ?????

I guess I need to get the tires and diesel fuel out of the den
Try used 50 weight instead of diesel, works just as good.

yes, just take your oil from all the oil changes and use it for starting the fires. It also works well for getting rid of stumps in the yard
