I didn't know whether to put this in the marketing forum or this forum, so feel free to move the thread if you guys need to.
Anyway, I got a call from a hood cleaning customer the other day asking me about cleaning their roof. I don't normally do that sort of thing, but told him that I would give him a bid anyway.
He has that white rubber membrane stuff that is super expensive. It was just installed a few months ago and they were having a couple spots that were leaking already so they had the contractor out that installed it. They fixed the roof leaks then tried to sell him on roof cleaning.
The contractor told my customer that the manufacturer recommends keeping the roof clean because it has a higher reflective effectiveness when it's clean and therefore saves them money on heating and air bills.
I don't know how true it is, but I thought I would let you guys in on the information. It makes sense, especially back east where roofs get really dirty and discolored; not such a big deal here in the Mojave Desert.
So, do your research and see how much you could possibly save your customers with these types of roofs and get out there and sell them on it.
Good luck.
