Great Call Last Night!!!

Guy Blackmon

Roundtable Host 2009
Just wanted to say thanks to Ron for setting up the Conference Call last night about the Houston situation.

A lot of good info and ideas were discussed. This is a problem that needs to be "Nipped In The Bud". Make no mistake, this type of Problem is coming to Your Town, City or State in the very near future.

It is time for Contractors to "Join Together" to fight these "Illegal Restrictions" on our Businesses.

I stand ready to help our brothers in Houston in any way possible......Will You???

I was working and could not attend the call, I did get the text but was in the middle of a job and had to finish.

Any more details of the call or specifics that you can talk about?

It was a good call I think we developed an appropriate strategy to attack this misconception that we are the problem. I believe with our increased involvement we can present the correct image that pressure washers are in the environmental restoration business and we remove the pollutants before they can contaminate. Once they understand that without or services there will be many more health risks as well as an increase in actual pollution levels perhaps they will change their minds on the ridiculous path they are on.

If it was a productive conversation......yes. I'm sure there's some giggly boy stuff in there but I can overlook that :)

Thank You, Thank You, and THANK YOU to all that were able to participate. I really appreciate everyones willingness, inlcuding those that were not able to participate in the conference call, for being so willing to be a part of the solution. As Guy stated, these problems with enforcement can and will come to a city near you, and could already be in the works.

Being here in Houston, it makes me feel good to know we've got a great group of people that stand ready to help us here.

The word "THANKS" does not adequately convey the appreciation we have for each and every one of you.

Hey Guy,
Can you update your email address in your CP profile? I am getting bounce notices that your listed email is no good.
Thank you!

It was 2.5 hours, you really want it?

I couldn't make this call either because of work. I'd also like to see the transcript to this call. I think there is something else going on here and its definitely political with the EPA at the core of this along with The Houston politicians. It also looks like there trying to make a point by making Houston a front runner in the "Green world" when they have it azz backwards and on top of this they see a potential Revenue stream by fining the ones that keep the city clean and thats the Powerwashers. My guess is the decision makers probably live on the outskirts of Houston if not further. Easy solution there is to just block off the nearby storm drains and let the water evaporate that is used in the cleaning process.

You can't just look the other way and do nothing.
To take this a step further we should see posted somewhere preferably here what the rules are in Houston now as it pertains to Powerwashing. Lets see the written ordinance on this. Thats a good starting point.

John, please tell me you actually listened to what I said. The reality is that we as and industry have allowed people to take these BMPs and twist and turn them.

They are Best not Exact mp's , this means that citys do not have to go the houston route. These laws are not to close industrys!!

Or maybe they are and this is whats wrong with america

If there is a transcript available, I would like to get a copy to read when I can.

Thank You.

No one took notes

Thats the first mistake. You need to see what the input was instead of people going by hearsay which is always far from the tuth and then it grows legs. I would like to see what laws are on the books or in this case could be Ordinances which are similiar to laws and both are open to fines and some could lead towards criminal convictions if your caught multiple times. So as they say in court.... we need the facts cause everything else is irrelevent in the court of law. Just the facts. Did anyone tape the call?? Of so that good to. We can't make any assumptions without know the facts.

When will there be another call?

I would like to be on one.
