Venting burner exhaust in a box truck

We ran a 10" pipe out the back roll up door. I would not suggest cutting thru the opaque roofs between heat and stress the tops have a tendancy to crack.

I agree with Alexy.
most enclosed systems vent out the back door,
and have fans up in the front blowing hot exhaust out a doorway.

I also would not cut through the transparent roof as it will probably start leaking soon and also cracking.

I have seen some guys run a pipe from the burner (90 degree elbow from the vertical burners) out to the back of the truck where the door opens up and have a large fan close to the machine to blow some of the heat out. The fan also helps to keep some of the exhaust from coming back into the truck when it is windy outside.

I would also put the Rhinoliner or Herculiner onto the floor of the truck so when there are leaks/spills it will not rot out the floor/walls.

Go to a heating an air place and they will fab you one out of ss.The one i had on my other machine was just like 2 45 degrees.I talked to the guys at largo in tennesse and they said a 90 might be to much but 2 45s together would do well venting out.I have mine in my box truck with no vent.I ran it 8 hours tues night no problems but it doesnt smoke either.

Im going to call this trailer shop tomorrow and see if they cant take a piece of that transparent roof out and replace it with ss so I can vent it out the top. I've already had a big piece of it patched. So it should just be take that piece back out. I wasnt sure if it could be done, but if you look at the truck in the picture, they done it on it

Ron get you some 12v fans and put 2 of them in there. That will help the heating an air will fab you up something for 100 bucks or so.Those fans help move the air around so those big motors dont keep sucking in all that hot air.I know your not having to run heat washing trucks with those bioclean chemicals this time of year are you????????????

No I run heat once or twice every week. But when I do. it gets bad. I have one job I run 8 or more hrs straight with the burners on. Im actually removing all the E-tracks and panels inside my box. Im going to put up new panels, cut 2 spaces on each side for fans, then run the exhaust out the floor and hopefully the burners out the top!

So how did all of the cutting work out for you? Did you run the exhaust out of the bottom? Planning on buying a small box truck about May so I have been figuring out how I want to set everything up inside the box. I was thinking of putting a small vent with a fan in the ceiling like what is on some campers to keep the fumes down and to help with the heat. Also going to mount lights in the ceiling.
