Post your Truck/Van Wraps

Back before wraps I had the full side lettering and logos on our dry clean delivery vans like Guy has. I was a fanatic about tracing leads and we only got one customer from those trucks, even though they were in traffic all the time and parked out in front of all types of businesses and in all kinds of neighborhoods picking up clothes all week.

Flyers didn't work too well and we tried it all. Yellow pages just barely paid for itself. The best bang for the buck was hitting up businesses and presenting our service at a company meeting or giving discounts to managers to promote our service to other employees. We had well over 1000 regular weekly customers and at least 3/4 of them came from this method. The nice thing was, people changed jobs a lot and we spread through employees getting us started at their new job.

When we bought the next round of delivery vehicles I didn't even bother to put signage on them other than a very small one just to help deal with the parking meter people.

Maybe it's the atmosphere out here. We're so inundated with advertising here in Vegas people just don't pay any attention to it any more. And last time I checked a wrap cost more than a paint job. My neighbor does custom paint signage on vehicles and unless it's a detailed picture you can't tell it from a wrap. His pricing is less than a wrap and it never fades.

I think it has alot to do with the service industry and your clientele you are going after. I think if I had a truck only doing commercial flat work at night, I wouldn't put the effort into a wrap just some vinyl lettering. Residential is a whole different ball of wax....everyone for the most part at some time in their life need a house/roof/pressure washing job. If your marketing just commercial, I don't think it would work out to wrap your vehicle.

Go with the rotating LED digital flash signs. I just made it up but it sounds cool.

LOL funny you should say that......in addition to wrapping the truck we are adding a full lightbar, dash strobes, full strobe kit surrounding the truck AND strobing out the trailer with 4 rear strobes and strobes on each side in the middle of the trailer. We will also be adding a traffic advisor (arrowstick) to the rear of the trailer that we can direct traffic away from us. We will look like a Christmas tree going down the road lol

When I did the partial wrap/lettering on my Dodge 2500, it took only 2 weeks to pay for itself, within a few months I had about 56 calls and that resulted in 48 jobs, for me it was a great investment that paid many times over.

Now the wrap is fading badly and I have not decided on what to put there, thinking of something different, probably marketing a different service.

How long did it take for your wrap to get faded?

I had the wrap/lettering done back in 2007 or 2008.

It more than paid for itself, they did tell me it would only last about 3 or 4 years but that is ok.

I am trying to come up with ideas for the new wrap, not sure what service to put on the tailgate.

If anyone needs a reasonably priced wrap or even letters. Give me a call anytime. We all know graphic designers. My graphic designer takes the actual model and designs the graphics on the unit and send you a proof. I have a contact in the art department at a local high school. Printing of wraps is about 40 % of retail costs. If course this does not include installation which can take from one to three days. You will need a warm and clean garage with a heat gun and other tools to install. But with YouTube any can fix or install just about anything. This process will save you 2 grand or more on a full wrap.

Is that an actual wrap or a mockup?

If that school could do the job for 40% less than that is something to really think about.

I guess someone would have to see how much it cost to have it applied once it is designed, printed then shipped to your location, as long as it is printed on quality vinyl and coated so it does not fade.

All of this sounds like a good deal.

Its a wrap on both side and the back of the truck.

If you don't mind, how much was that wrap?

I am looking at a box truck that is similar and curious to what it would cost to get the wrap on it.

Could your people do the design and print it out and I have someone here install it? I would not want to try installing it, I have seen the youtube videos and don't care to try or learn.

Thanks.
