New web site - critique please?

It's far from finished, as we still have to add house washing, roof repair and potentially power washing to name a few, BUT.....the look, feel and layout will be very similar if not identical.

With that said, I'd appreciate any and all constructive comments. Oh yeah, and if you want to push a Tweet This button or a G+ button while you're lookin' it over, that's even better. Thanks!

lookin good Ted. I googled plused a coupe pages. not sure the tweet is working. like the site though. very easy to read and navigate.

It looks good!! I like the slides effect. I would put your phone number in the header, big and easy to find. With a call to action phrase. Also needs some more text in the front page with titles and subtitles so it can look organized and easy to read.

I would even out the spacing on the paragraphs, and the "our commitment" section. Actually throughout the whole site.
I would change the "ugly roof stains" to something more keyword friendly.
"Roof Cleaning Northern VA Contact oage" title tag for the contact page needs to be corrected.
You have no keywords or description for the front page.
On your gallery page your keywords and descriptions needs much more fine tuning.

Just a few things I noticed quickly.

@Mark - Thank you! That was very gracious considering you have an SEO business. I've tried to draft this one with more of a sales/closing tact, and had planned on visiting the on-page SEO afterwards. I'm getting close to having the 'story line' the way I want, so your words of wisdom are very timely. On the gallery page, the descriptions are currently imbeded (sp). I need to redo all of that, and meanwhile, I'm still figuring out WP in general. I'm getting there though.

Russ - thanks bud! I had a friend from out of state tell me the same thing today. I'm still experimenting with Plugins. It'll likely be gone tomorrow. When you have a minute, pls see if you like the unavoidable pop up on the Gallery page any better? I wonder if I can get a developer to modify the 'sales tool' so that I can put an image of my choice there? Hmmmmm....

Thanks Micah. My original web site is more keyword stuffed than anything. (read not so good) It's served me well, but we hope to up the game BIG time this year. I thought I might try anything designed to improve sales even more, but I'm not so sure now.....

If anyone is a WP guru, I have a challenge I just can't overcome. Perhaps it's because I'm using a premium theme. Anywho, I can't get anything of the following to work on the Homepage: No Google +, no Tweet This, nothing. Tech support for the theme creator is a joke. I've modded header.php files, footer files, Nada. Perhaps it's not possible?

Thanks for the critiques and suggestions! (PS - I've added some hovers too!)

Thanks Ty! Just today I learned how to get rid of the side bar space today, which 'should' allow me to center things better. Would like to hear your thoughts on doing the contact form differently if you're willing to share? Thanks!

Well I have found that it is good to have 1 short small contact form like you have on your website now. And then another Request A Quote form as a different tab on your website all together. In the Request A Quote page it should be longer and more detailed.
Here is my request a quote page: http://pressurewashaz.com/request_a_cleaning_quote.html

Not saying mine is the best or anything. In fact I'm working on a new site as we speak. But having a more detailed quote section is great. If a customer takes the time to fill it out it is almost a guaranteed sale! The Status of Project box is great too because if they put Ready to Hire then it is easy to get them on the calendar. Plus it gives you more information to talk to them about when you call back. All of this is just my two cents... I'm not an expert. Hope it helped!

There is a setting on each pluggin under the settings tab. You can choose whether to include the homepage or not. Whether or not you want them to appear before or after or both. If you know about that and have tried that, then you may have a problem, but Wordpress is pretty much plug and play. You can send me your login info and I can take a quick look if you want.

A belated thanks again folks.

Mark - I've implemented many of your suggestions, but still have a few tweak so make. I'm familiar with the plugins and the settings for homepage vs page vs posts, yet..... Per tech support where I purchased this theme, short code must be placed in the homepages PHP file 'within the Wordpress loop'. Last time I messed with those PHP files, it took my site down.

Reminds me of a phrase that I heard from my Dad while growing up - "it's often best to leave well-enough alone!" LOL

Ty you pretty good with sites. Remember you lived as long as websites have been around so don't sell yourself short. Great advice
