Business cards

I'm getting low on cards and am going to have them redone.

What works? What doesn't work? Any new ideas out there? Lets see your cards!

I just got one from Robert Hinderliter and he has the Scan to add contact on the back. That funny looking box thing. Anyone else doing this? And how do you get one made up?

G'day Chris, I've got a mate in Australia, well he is actually in Bali for the next couple of months living it up, but he does digital business cards.
They are fully animated cards sent to your mobile phone, that you can then send via Bluetooth, MMS or Email. They make great email signatures too.
The benefits are that you will never run out of them and your customers can have them on their person at all times unlike traditional cards. They can also be on-sent to people so one card can multiply. Some examples of his work can be found on this website pressure cleaning or mechanic
They will not replace traditional cards but are pretty cool as another form of promotion.

Have both sides of the card done exactly the same. This way when it gets set on a desk your company info is facing up at all times.

I use triplicate forms for all field proposals. I would never write up a proposal on the back of a card.

I don't think I could fit price, scope of work, exclusions, and all the legal jargon on the back of a business card. And that also wouldn't leave me a copy to keep for my records as well.

Id laugh someone off my property if they wrote a price on the back of a card

Simple and to the point, leave back of card blank for writing on. I can't tell you how many customers actually ASK for me to write the price on the back. Right now the back of my card is such that I cant. I will never do that again.

Name of company, phone #, and my top two services on front, back empty. Keep it simple. And I agree with the QR code. Just don't think people use them

I used to have all kinds of fancy cards too Doug. I have more cards on my desk with important information written on the back than I do blank ones.

I too, write quick estimates on the back of cards.

As a matter of fact we just got a contract signed from one of those. The card had been on on the PM's desk for months turned face down where all they could see was "Filters and Coils $32k/yr". It was there everytime we made our sales rounds. Now it's memorialized in a contract and we start this month.

I wonder how many times that PM looked at that scribbled handwriting over the last 6 months. Subliminal advertising. lol.

On the other hand, IF I had anything on the back it would be general pricing. ALL our dry cleaning cards had pricing on the back, but with a little space left over for writing information. Shelly's old DMV Service cards had a checklist of all the paperwork the customer would have to provide for the service.

I just changed to this on the back and I love it.

I guess I can see where putting a price on the back of a card could be handy, but I haven't done it.

I was actually going to put "Clean Spaces Rent Places" in real sharp clean letters on the back of my new cards, but I went with the picture instead.

The picture really gets attention and I am sure to put it in front of people picture side up.
