First off let me tell you that this is not my product or service but I have been using it on my sites and love it. I have been off of here for a while so I thought I would throw something at you that may help in your rankings.

Some of you use services to tell you what people are searching to find your site. What do you do with that knowledge? Write a post using those search terms? That would be the good thing to do but what if you could automate that?

This is a plugin that you add to your wordpress site that will do just that for you with some randomly generated article. Now it will not show up on the front page so don't worry about that. Because the articles are not usually very good, after 3 days it deletes the article and does a 301 redirect to the original page that the user landed on thus increasing the importance for that keyword. You may show up on the first page but if it is at the bottom of that page it will help you to raise up for that keyword on the original page that it is redirecting to.

The cost is $27 a month which is very reasonable, especially since you can use it on up to 5 sites for that price.

Here it is

Keyword Explosion

Now for the other help....

How do you get the search engines to know when you have put up a new blog post or page? You have to tell them and tell them a lot to get it indexed quickly. Attached is a list of ping sites and no you do not have to do this manually. Wordpress will do it for you. When you log into your dash board go to Settings and then Writing - Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see a bos with something like http://rpc.pingomatic.com and there is usually only one url there. Take that one out and copy and paste the list in the attachment into that box and click save.

If you do happen to subscribe to this plugin and need help installing it just drop me a line and I can help.

To see what it does for a site google Deck Staining and see where you find DeckStainingTips.com it was a #9 a few weeks ago. The facebook page which has nothing done to it in months was nowhere to be found at all before this.

Good luck and hope these two things help.

Thanks for the share pat, nice list. What about the robots file, do you usually just leave it as it generates or do you restrict some parts or do some tweeks to it as well?

Hello Pat - thanks for the list. As I read in Wordpress the ping list can change from time to time. How often should we update it?

I have not had to update that list. The list has nothing to do with wordpress but rather the search engines and those rarely change if at all.

When I google deck staining I don't see you, but I do see my site at #10, which is kind of cool. Of course, a lot of people don't know that google gives different results to different people. It could also be that you are going through the google shuffle, where you temporarily disappear from the rankings, and then come back after a day or two. Google is known to do this as you acquire more good back links.

You knoe, it is funny that you mention that. It did drop from the keyword deck staining but the traffic has not stopped. People are obviously using longer search terms because the traffic is still the same if not higher.

What this really does is get the search engines to crawl your site faster. Otherwise it can take days, weeks or months before they know you are there. It does nothing for rankings.

Any suggestion as to why this option is not available in my wp blog? I'm using wp dot com, not .org. Under my update services, I dont even have the option to add or delete anything.

Check to see if the privacy settings are set for the search engines not to index the site. If it is not there then all I can say is host wordpress yourself. The free stuff is not worth the price you pay.
