I thought I would post this here instead of in the Alfa section of the board so everyone can see this.
It's bad enough that Southern California is known for it's bad drivers. One thing I've been noticing lately is other pressure washing companies doing 90 Mph down the freeway pulling a trailer. No company name on the side of the truck or they have magnetic signs they can pull off. They blow their horn at you and then proceed to cut you off as they are going by. I just think to myself 'hurry up you fricken hack you're going to be late for your next call'. I think these are the same guys though that drive 30 mph through the parking lot of the shopping center they are cleaning and when you go to look at their work it doesn't look like they have been there even.
I drive the speed limit and double check all my work with a flash light. If I want a cup of coffee, I stop and get a cup at night. If I'm running 20 minutes behind schedule for the night, big deal. I'll get there, do the job right the 1st time and not get called back because I did a rush job.
I think the bottom line is if people can't make a half way decent living in this industry then maybe they should sell their equipment and get out of it because they are making the rest of us look bad. I think these are the same guys though that pay $10,000 for a rig, go out and put 60 hours on it and then want to sell it for $9,800. People don't realize though that these machines depreciate faster than a brand new car when you drive it off the lot. These are the same guys that lurk on these boards and then pop up and only ask a question about what chemical to use or about pricing and then they disappear.
At least where I live though, after the 5th or 6th of the month you are lucky to see another pressure washer out at night.
We are supposed to be professionals out there. I think alot of guys are out there making the whole industry look bad though.
Just though I'd vent a little is all.
