In 1992 George Herbert Walker Bush lost his bid for re-election to Bill Clinton largely because of two buzz phrases. One he said "No new Taxes" The other Bill said, "It's about the economy stupid"
That last phrase rings in my ears every day! It's about the economy stupid has become in my daily life as "It's about JOBS stupid."
Id like to start a thread here so we can all count up the number of jobs we are creating. Small business employs America and we are small businessmen and women. The only way we can work our way out of this economy is to create jobs!
Look at these facts, Robert Hinderliter has created more jobs in the pressure washing industry than possibly anyone else. Then you have Ron Musgraves the PT Barnum of our industry out there promoting it tirelessly everyday. Guys like Doug Rucker with small training camps that help make sure that hopeful entrepreneurs get some training and business systems to be able to make it through the difficult first year of business. Organizations like the UAMCC and the PWNA who give structure, BMPs and training as well as cast vision and leadership. All of these efforts should be measured in JOBS!
A job is a single position of new responsibility added to a pre-existing business. You starting a pressure washing company does not create a job. When you grow enough to hire a helper that is one job. Hire a salesmen, that is one job. If you have three helpers move in and out of the position that year that was not three jobs. Only one job exists and three people filled it. So example Doug Rucker doesn't create jobs training pressure washing business owners, however if the owner succeeded because of Dougs training and support and then that owner adds an employee and creates a job, shouldn't Doug get credit for that.
Please with PRIDE add to this thread and list the number of JOBS you have created in the last 12 months.
