Rinse with mineral spirits into bucket, pump spirits back in to bucket for next use.
Re-rinse with water.

I use straight up Dawn soap and leave the water in the pump and hoses I don't drain them dry.It also primes up faster leaving the soapy water in the hoses and a little water in the pump. I found mineral spirits to dry up the seals inside the pump if cleaned with thinner.
You want to clean with a soap that will try to cut the oil inside the pump.

I used a titan 440 and left the mineral spirits in the pump and hose, never had any problems. I sold the sparyer and it is still in use after 11 years.
