Tony Shelton is in the Hospital Guys, How about a prayer for Tony & SHelly

Thanks for all the prayers. The Doctor said the recovery was twice as fast as he expected.

He attributed it to my getting the faucet in my eye in less than a minute after it happened, but I attribute it to all your prayers.

Thanks again!

Good deal Tony. I'm happy to hear that your doing better.

That is great news Tony.

Still improving. The pain is not too bad now, just a general aching and sight is about 85%.

This morning at the dr. the big green spot seen in the picture has reduced to a few tiny spots.

Off all meds except antibiotics now. Still can't see well enough to drive at night with halos around everything, but getting better every day.

Don't mess with that stuff without eye protection!

Four months later I think this has healed as much as it is going to.

It is still blurry a little and no prescription appears to help in the blurriness. It's kindof like very minor cataracts.

It's not too bad though and my other eye has adjusted to where it doesn't bother me anymore.

That was a rough thing to go through.

I hope none of you guys ever have to go through that.

Salt Water next week will help it, come on the Beer Drinking Boat. The bOOZZ cruise

Thanks guys, not that big of a deal turns out. I was replacing the pump on a coil chem sprayer that had old caustic in it that had crystalized and dried up and been sitting over two years.

I guess it didn't occur to me that there could still be liquid caustic in the lines after crystallizing so I took it apart without eye protection and the line popped off and shot a real hot mix directly into my eye.

I made it to the pull out faucet at the sink in less than 30 seconds and blasted it for over ten minutes. Then went straight to the ER where they irrigated it for almost 3 hrs.

They sent me home at around 1am and I had to go back this morning when the specialist came in. At 7am the pH of my eyeball was still 9 so they irrigated some more.

Right now I have burns over 90% of that cornea but they said it will most likely heal back up within a week or so.

ALWAYS USE EYE PROTECTION....THIS IS PAINFUL!

By the way, this is how they irrigate now, with a contact lenses looking thing that has a hose in the middle of it pumping saline right into it.

Tony. I just had a blast of straight 12% in mine a week ago. They put that same thing in my eye. I think I would take a good waterboarding before I would take that "Eye Boarding" again. The bad thing about it is that a big burly male nurse did it. I didn't even have a pretty young nurse to hold my hand. I just finished with a tube of salve that I had to put in my eye. I have two sets of safety glasses hanging on the sun visor of the truck right now. Won't let that happen again.
