Hey guys, I'm in the process of putting together a tri-fold brochure for roof/house washes to hand out to potential customers. I'd appreciate it if you guys could throw out any pros that you use when selling your roofs and house washes, as well as the cons if they decide not to get a cleaning. Thanks alot guys.

Don't use the word "chemical". Clear before and after pictures. I was thinking about the tri-fold, but settled on double sided 5x8's to pass out instead - for bigger pictures. I'll let you know how it works in a week or two.

Please fill out your signature...thanks.

I always tell my roof cleaning customers its a chemical application & treatment process, I don't hide the fact I use SH or any other foaming agents. Being honest and upfront has got me a long way so far. I feel when you dance around the arma detergents and whats in your roof cleaning mixture customers get worried and are less likely to do business. When they say "you use bleach? wont that damage my roof and Landscaping?" I simply reply the manufacturers would not only recommend this process if it would damage your roof or void your warranty and we take all necessary precautions to protect plants and landscaping.

Now im not saying to put all that on your brochure lol but on all my roof advertising material i simply put:

Safe No Pressure Roof Cleaning Services
Soft Wash Chemical Application & Mildew Prevention Treatment

I also notice you have "exterior rust stain removal" on your logo. What is your chemical/soap/detergent/solution of choice for that?

Yep, the all and powerfull F9! won't use anything else after using Craigs product. Pickin up a case next week from the local distributor down here so I can get me on that authorized applicator list

Haha sorry, should have filled that thing out along time ago.... I make sure to stress the fact that I have a ground man who's sole responsibility is to protect their plant life when I start explaining. I also am upfront when they ask "whats in it" I say "Basically it's a mild mixture of bleach, water, and a specially designed roof soap" - the soap being roof snot. I explain the entire process to them, and whats expected of them after the cleaning - if it rains or mists to rinse plants. I'm looking to put in the brochure the selling points, what you would tell a customer that says "well why would I want to do that?" or "Well I don't think that black stuffs hurting anyone." Thanks alot guys

That is great that you are upfront and honest with your customers because customers want the truth and can find out a lot of things on the internet these days very quickly and we all don't want to be dishonest.

Ground guys are very important and it is great that you are doing the right thing and helping to protect the customer's property, that shows you care and are professional in their eyes.

Glad you are doing all the right things.

So far, what I'm thinking of putting in the brochure's WHY CLEAN YOUR ROOF section is -
1) explain what gloeocapsa magma is, and identify other problems - algae, mold, mildew, bacteria, lychen, mosses and how they actually feed on the limestone fillers in the roof
2) premature degradation of the shingles
3) acids produced from the waste of these organisms that further damage the roof
4) granule loss due to the organisms
5) excess heat/UV rays because of gleoecapsa causing more damage
6) increased electric bill
7) potential for the cleaning paying for its self within the first or second year in saved electricity
8) allergens and potential for more allergens being reduced
9) curb appeal

If I left anything out, please shoot me your ideas. Thanks
What I'm aiming to do is inform them so the customer feels like they made the decision on their own, instead of being "sold" a job.

Sounds Good to me

I'll remember when I expand to roof cleaning! Thanks

I agree 100%. Pictures tell a thousand words. Get your best "before and after" pics and slap that on the cover to quickly grab their attention.
