Hey guys! Up here in MI and have been at this mobile PWing thing for a few years now and we just got our DI system from culligan and are ready to go pound out some work but before we do i have a few questions. We currently have 1 guy spraying and 2 drying, this leaves the cars pretty decent (dealership acceptable i should say) but with the addition of the DI, i have seen a few on here only using 2 guys(1 spray, 1 dry). My question is, at the pace we move to be profitable, what areas do you focus on drying when its just a single guy to keep pace? We average 60-70 cars/ hour and have a total of 13 lots per week were doing without DI water. Im just trying to get as efficient as possible.
Also, Most of the lots we do are around 100-125 cars. We have 2 lots that are over 250-300 cars. We are using a 300 gallon water tank and are not actively filling it as we wash. With the DI, we will only be able to fill the tank cause of the restrictor needed at a pace of about 5GPM, which would put about an hour of downtime for fill-ups. My question is, is it worth the time to run a fill hose while we do these lots especially with the hassle of having to move the truck around also or should we actively fill only at the bigger lots? We use a 200ft spray hose fyi. Thanks for any and all input!!!!
