I have a couple of them, the Mosmatic 12" and the Steel Eagle 12".
I don't use these for most jobs as the larger surface cleaners do a great job, you can lift one side of your surface cleaner to hit closer to the grass on sidewalks or driveways instead of pushing the surface cleaner into the grass and mowing the grass.
I put a 90 degree elbow on top of the swivels so the hose is not sticking straight up and that helps me get under a lot of obstacles, they don't cost much, get them online or a hose or hydraulic supply store, don't use brass (not strong enough) or galvanized (will rust soon), only use the high pressure fittings.
You can use a dual lance wand and adjust your pressure or clean from the grass inward to the concrete to help with the mulch issues.
There is the device that is made for dealing with mulch, dirt and other stuff that the inventor from florida made and posted here called the Surface Edger. I have one and it works good, it is about $60 more or less and has a metal edge to keep the spray from going into the grass or mulch when cleaning concrete. Here is a youtube video showing it in use:

The small surface cleaner is a good idea but when you are switching out surface cleaners for different parts of the job, that takes time and wastes time a lot of time. You don't want to use the small surface cleaner on most of the job as it will not clean as fast, use the regular surface cleaner for most of the job and finish with the wand.
Hope this helps.
