Will These draw water?

I have a couple pumps and engines sitting around, I would like to keep them on my trailer hooked to a water tank.

I am just not sure if they would draw water from the tank or not. The senario is that the inlet would be mounted about 6" below the bottom of the tank, plumbed with 1" pipe, I can dual feed if needed.

Both are direct drive with gx390s
one is a General EZ 4040G the other is a Comet ZWD-k 4036

The General shouldn't be much of a problem. The Comet...maybe. Dual feed would really help your cause.

Thanks Russ! Working on it now.

With the tank half full I am getting 12GPM at the end of the intake hose. A full tank would be more im sure. Although I guess that does not effect the actual psi to the pump.

Hopefully tomorrow I can test it out.

Your trailer is just overflowing with extra space? must be nice! hope this turns out well!

I wouldn't say its overflowing with extra space. I have a bout 4 Sq ft of extra space. I am mounting one of the 4gpm machines directly to the rear of the trailer bed, then having a mounting bracket welded up to be able to stack a small generator over top of that. My stacked hose reels sit beside this at the back of the trailer. Its been a long time in the making and she is almost done. I find that the slower it came together the tighter and more efficient it has become.
