What 8gpm gearbox pump will go on a Honda GX 630?

I come across a skid but it has a Cat 4gpm pump on it and it would have to be changed out to a 8gpm pump. What pump # will bolt up to this engine. I need to get a general idea on cost for a pump.

Just get an 8 gpm pump of your choice and a gearbox to match your engine shaft size. (There are different gear ratios ). I buy udor pumps and get the gearboxes from them as well. They are in Minnesota. Pumps are around $800 I think.

I can get a General TSF2221 with a gearbox that'll do 8.5 gpm for $784.68.

That's what I figured. It doesn't look like a very big burner. It may not be worth it after all with trying to upgrade the pump and all. The price was within my budget. I had planned on buying a new cold water unit but had come across this one for about the same money.

I can get you a direct drive 5 or 5.5 gpm AR pump for it. I can price it Monday.

Thanks Russ but I want to go with an 8gpm machine whether it is switching out a pump or buying a new machine. Setting up a fleet washing rig for two step and want the extra. I am sure I could get by this a 5.5 but want to start out with the 8 gallon. I need to give you a call anyway and price a few new cold water units. I told you at the Louisville convention that I would give you a call anyway. My plan is getting hooked up with Blaine and his system.

Why not just upgrade it to a 8+ gpm pump and convert it to cold water?

8 gpm at 1500 psi cleans better and faster than 5.5 gpm at 2500 psi when washing fleets. Easier on the body too. I use larger tips to lower pressure.

Thanks Tony for the opinion from an experienced fleet guy!

My intentions are to buy a new 8 gallon cold water machine but then I run across this one. My thought was since it was pretty much the same price as a new cold water unit then maybe I could upgrade the pump and have a hot water machine for about 2 grand less than a new one. This machine only has 160 hours on it but if the hotbox wont keep up with the 8 gallon pump then it is pretty much defeats the purpose. I might as well just go ahead and buy the 8 gallon cold water machine and upgrade to the right sized hotbox later. If I bought this machine and upgraded and convert back to cold water then I am more money in it then buying a new cold water machine.
